Hello follow Little Rock Geek Club Members,

My name is Shane Hill.  I have been nominated by Jodin to take over general administration of the Geek Club, which I have gladly accepted.  The Little Rock Geek Club has been a huge success since its beginning in August of 2010.  We have grown tremendously as Jodin stated in his last e-mail to everyone and I think it's great!  As a result of our growth, I believe that we have outgrown the Little Rock area.  We now have members all around Central Arkansas as well as events being hosted in places like Bryant, Benton, McRae, North Little Rock and Cabot.  As a result, I think the club name needs to reflect that our group is not just targeting Geeks in Little Rock, but all around Central Arkansas.  Therefore, I feel that a name change to the Central Arkansas Geek Club is very appropriate.

At this moment I do not plan on making any other changes to the club.  As the adage goes, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."  But I'm always open to new ideas so please feel free to send them my way.

Now to a little administrative business I need to discuss with the group.  Our group fee was due when I took over as administrator yesterday.  I went ahead and payed for 1 month of membership dues, which is $19 to keep the site going for another month.  After this time, I will have to pay the fee once again.  It is more economical to pay for several months at once as opposed to one month at a time.  3 months dues are $45 and 6 months are $72.  It is not my intention to ever charge membership dues, but if you guys could help me out with the dues, I would greatly appreciate it.  If even 24 people pitched in $3 each, we could have the site dues paid up to next Summer.  Please email me or see me in person at one of the events if you are willing to help out.  I will accept donations through PayPal or cold hard cash :)

We have many events coming up in the next month.  I hope to attend many of these and meet some of you guys that I haven't met.  I will try to attend as many events as I can.  I'm a single parent with 3 children, so it's sometimes hard for me arrange babysitting.

I welcome this opportunity to sponsor the Central Arkansas Geek Club.  If you ever have any questions or concerns please give me a shout.  My email address is [address removed].
