Have you built any cool robotics or electronics projects, or do you plan to build something cool?

I plan to build an autonomous robot called a micromouse which will be able to solve a 16X16 unit maze by it self. This is a competition held by IEEE where universities from regions of the US travel to see whose micromouse will solve the maze the fastest. Our last competition, I had an unfortunate situation with the micromouse I had built. While my team mate and I were working on the coding all night, the stepper motor had burned out accidentally and we had no replacements. Currently I am designing another micromouse that uses DC motors with encoders, but still plan to use the stepper micromouse in the next competition.

Is there anything you want to learn or teach others about at LVBots?

I would love to gain more knowledge of how to implement microcontrollers in robotics. I know how to use Arduino type microcontroller proto boards, but I want to eventually take the next step and design my own custom PCB for a micromouse, and therefore I need more knowledge of how to use them/ possibly more coding experience.

My name is Adam Wolverton, and I am attending UNLV and in my junior year of Electrical Engineering. I am an officer of their IEEE UNLV branch and am looking to learn more about robotics for our major annual competition called Micromouse.
