Interested in improving your reasoning and decision-making skills? Want to make the world the best place it can be?

Effective Altruism is a world-wide movement about using rational thought and science to get the most effect. We hope to bring together interested people from all over The Netherlands to share our experiences and be more effective by working together.

By becoming a part of the movement you can learn to avoid cognitive biases, make better decisions, form effective habits and spend your money or time on the activities that do the most good. Meetups should happen biweekly and might be informal discussions, games or more structured learning.

To learn what effective altruism is about, see the introduction on the effective altruism forum or Peter Singer's TED talk.

The Dutch community started in March 2014. Besides the meetup group and a Facebook group, we are working on a few projects. I'd love to meet you and help you to make the world a better place.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
