Saw this recently and thought it was the cutest! Let’s do a tea time & homemade farmers market, bring 8 of the same homemade item (or for as many on the rsvp list) AND a potluck item (sweet or savory).

We’ll have tea time before “shopping”. Each person will share what they brought and come away with a few goodies.

This event will be held at home. To attend, the host needs to have met you before. Members only event.

Not a ranch style house. There are a number of steps to both the foyer and main level of home. If raining please remove your shoes. Plenty of street parking. House located near San Bruno.

About: Malaya Tea Room is a woman-owned Alameda gem offering a $48 full afternoon tea set that blends traditional British service with unique Malaysian flavors. Guests praise the opulent 1920s atmosphere, extensive loose tea menu, and standout savory bites like curry chicken and umami meat floss sandwiches

Payment due: $65.16 ($48 pp +$5.16 tax+ $12 tip)
Afternoon Tea service is $48 per person with an included gratuity charge of 25%. Alameda sales tax is 10.75%.

Tea service includes:

Finger sandwiches, pick THREE flavors (2 tea sandwiches per flavor)

British flavors:
Smoked salmon with chive cream cheese
Turkey with sundried tomato cream cheese
Cucumber with dill cream cheese
Egg salad with kewpie mayo (add $1)
Chicken Apple salad
Fig spread with salted butter
Lux, buttery dark chocolate with nonpareils

Malaya flavors:
Curry chicken
Pork jerky with light mayo spread (add $3)
Meatfloss (yuk sung) with basil house spread
Coconut jam (kaya) with sliced cold butter (add $1)
Sardine

Included: One scone with clotted cream and preserves, 3 sweets, pot of tea

From Malaya: We do not offer vegan, gluten-free or dairy free options due to limited kitchen space. We cannot accommodate dietary restrictions especially those with severe allergies.

Please plan commute accordingly. This is the first seating. Residential parking. Can be challenging.
