Hello, I moved to Asheville in 2003. I have retired from careers as a lawyer, publishing company executive and management consultant. I recently returned from 2 years in the Peace Corps and am enjoying semi-retirement.
I volunteer for Boston Terrier Rescue of NC (two dogs right now), SCORE and the Literacy Council. I attend some classes at the College for Seniors and will teach a course there in the fall (Crime Fiction). I was a board member of Terpsichore Dance Theater and love to watch dance.
I am a season subscriber to NC Stage Theater and have volunteered for them previously. I have seen some of the Catalyst series. I have also attended plays at ACT, Magnetic Theater, Flat Rock Theater and BeBe theater.
I hope to find like minded friends with whom I can attend events - mostly theater and also music and dance.
See above for volunteer work. I read voraciously, like to watch movies, visit art galleries and studios in downtown Asheville, the River Arts District and surrounding towns. I like to explore the mountains. I like dining out in Asheville's restaurants, regularly haunt the tailgate markets and enjoy cooking for friends. I like to work jigsaw puzzles with friends. I am a beginner at mah jong. I occasionally knit and needlepoint.
So glad to have found out about this group. Looking forward to future events.

my best friend, Erma Rhodes, does Animal rescue with Charlies Angels. I do fencing on the other side of Bebe theatre (unwell) but am learning under Giles. Thank you for joining me for the show!!!
So great to see you Elizabeth! Thanks for coming out to play today - and for the great suggestion of Inspecting Carol. I look forward to seeing you again - and hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving and your trip!
Elizabeth - still planning to come to Importance of Being Earnest? i need to pay for the tickets by tomorrow morning.
Elizabeth - thank you so much for coming out last night! It was such a treat to have so many supporters in the audience. Hope you went to Dashing Through the Snow and enjoyed it!
Always great to see you Elizabeth! Thanks for joining us last night. It does look like SART's season ends this month - and unfortunately, I just can't add anything else to my schedule this month. However, I will send them a donation AND a commitment that Ladies Who Love Live Theatre will join them next year! Thanks for the heads up and the connection. Hope to see you again soon. Warmly, Donna
Elizabeth - that's fine. But if you want to sit with the group, you can pay through Meetup. Just pay the senior price instead of the regular price and I'll buy you a senior ticket.
Hi Elizabeth. I just left a note under Honky Tonk regarding ushering. Rushing to head to 2 out of town speaking engagements so I'll leave it to you to work it out with Janna at the theatre or purchase a ticket. You can wait to see how many others want to attend before paying for your ticket if you like.
Hedwig sounds great. I'll be taking a look later and putting more on the board. In the meantime, I'm still working on filling up the two we have on there. :) Look for more to come. Hope you can join us soon!
So nice to meet you Elizabeth! Hope you join us again - I look forward to hearing about your time in the Peace Corps.
Hi Elizabeth! Welcome to the group and we look forwad to getting to know you. I think we have members from all the areas you listed. See you soon! Alan
