SPECIAL COMMS - 2016 DESERT AT CUDDEBACK DRYLAKE

This special comms op will start 24 hours before the main op in Cuddeback Drylake/Desert Op.

This Special Comms op will start Friday Nov 18 at 10:00 AM in preparation for the 2016 Fall Cuddeback Drylake/Desert Op which will take place the following day.

Who should attend Special Comms Op?
3 Kinds of people...

1. Amateur Radio Operators with Mesh network, APRS equipment, repeaters, digipeaters to set up.

2. Helpers - Net control station set up helpers.

3. Anyone Interested - those who wish to learn more about special communications. Note: you DO NOT have to be licensed to attend and help amateur radio operators set up.
   THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY for any member who wishes to learn more about ham radio, APRS and the mesh network while assisting the Special Comms team.

We will be conducting communication exercises the following day related to the mesh network, APRS (how we track vehicles by radio), and Net Control.

START FRIDAY AT 10:00 AM (24 hours in advance of the main op)

Night Operations will again be part of the Cuddeback Land Ops experience.

Special Comms team will be surveying the Cuddeback and Fremont Peak area for unique communication exercises being planned for the main op on Saturday which starts 24 hours later.

Last time Land Ops was at Cuddeback the lake wasn't so dry. Some adventure seekers outside of our group were rolled their vehicle in the mud and our team offered to recover it.
