Devil's Drain

Details

Devil’s Drain is an intermediate canyon with multiple rappels over 80’ through some very twisting and narrow slots. This canyon starts off with an 85’ vertical free hanging rap through a hole in a natural arch and ends up at the River after going through several hot springs. Bring some extra shoes if you don’t want to have wet feet for the rest of the trip. You will need a lunch and snacks as well as plenty of water. This canyon will take about 4-6 hours to get down and another 4-6 hours to paddle down stream in the canoes. THERE IS NOT a HIKING OUT OPTION ON THIS CANYON as the return route is very long up a canyon that we don’t come down over a saddle into another basin several miles from where we start. I will have one of our guides bring up canoes from Willow Beach which we will paddle down river. We will get picked up at Willow Beach for the return ride home. I am pretty sure nobody has been down this canyon except us so this is your chance to be one of the first people down it.
You will need all of your own gear and must possess the skills as outlined on the basic skills portion of the home page to participate in this meetup. This canyon is a lot of fun, has great geological formations, hot springs and ends up at the River (and then we have to hike back out). There will be a $50 per person charge for the canoes and group size is limited to a maximum of 12 people. Your place on this trip is not guaranteed until I have received your payment and you have received a Details & Confirmation sheet from me. If you are interested in this option email me your contact info and I will send you an invoice through PayPal. Email or call me if you have questions.
