Trade Secrets 101

Details

Trade secrets are among a company’s most important assets. This is especially so for startups and other young enterprises, where protecting the secrecy of a novel business model, a cutting-edge software program, or a state-of-the-art technical development may well be the difference between profitability and failure.

This interactive seminar is designed to provide entrepreneurs with basic knowledge about best practices for identifying and protecting valuable trade secrets—and avoiding expensive litigation over trade secrets and related employee mobility issues. Among the topics that will be covered are: What is a trade secret? What is trade secret misappropriation, and how does it typically occur? What steps should an enterprise take to protect its trade secrets? How do non-competition, non-disclosure, and non-solicitation agreements fit in? How can an enterprise best avoid expensive trade secret lawsuits against departing employees and competitors?

Speakers: Chris Gegwich & Troy Lieberman
