Have you come out as lesbian or bisexual later in life? Are you a lesbian or bisexual woman who is or was married to a man? Perhaps you’ve found yourself attracted to another woman unexpectedly? Or, maybe you’ve always known, but still lived as heterosexual? If any of this describes you, then this is your meetup! Lavender & Lace is a support group and social club for women who have come out later in life, as well as those still coming to terms with their same-gender attractions, after having lived as “straight”. Our primary goal is to provide emotional support and social opportunities for women who have come out later in life as well as those coming out (at least to themselves) - especially, but not exclusively, after marriage. Formerly-married, still-married, and never-married women are all welcome and needed in this group. All ages are welcome as well. Our common thread is the shared experience of contemplating and/or adjusting to a shift in sexual orientation after having lived primarily as “straight”. Wherever you are in this journey, this is a fantastic opportunity to find one another for support, advice, understanding, friendship, and fun! However, given that our members are likely to range from fully closeted to completely out, it must also be understood that discretion and respect for the privacy of others is absolutely necessary.
