CSR: Discussing the Past, Present & Future

We are excited to get leaders in CSR together talking and sharing ideas in the same room.

There is so much going on within this topic I encourage all to come ready with some examples of CSR that you like, that you don't like and ideas of best practices you want to help create.  CSR is a special industry in that it opens up a discussion of how to create a more sustainable consumption model.  This industry can shape all industries and the way we look at the purpose of businesses.

So get ready for interesting and engaging conversation with dedicated, motivated people!

Our meet-ups will be hosted at The HUB in SF - The HUB provides community, space & events for people taking collaborative action for a better world. You can learn more about the HUB at www.HUBBayArea.com,

I thought this meet-up was a success. The structure of the discussion yielded quality, guided conversations. We all got a little bit closer to understanding where CSR has been, where it is going and what needs to happen to get there. Ultimately it comes down to creating a social system that works. Capitalism has helped countless communities rise out of poverty, but at a cost. We believe in a new system that adds an ethical, conscious awareness to corporate activity.

There were many great ideas presented and I will post them by tomorrow. Feel free to provide feedback about how you thought things went, discussions you would like to have about CSR or ideas you want to share with the group. Keep on pushing change :)

It was fun and the participants all brought something to the table. Just enough structure to the meet up while allowing for free discussion.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
