Lean Startup and Lean Software Development both have their roots in Lean, however they also miss many Lean fundamentals. Jim Benson, creator of Personal Kanban and winner of the Shingo Award for Lean Excellence, straddles both these worlds. In this one-hour talk, Jim will describe how understanding the basics of Lean are necessary for the success of either Lean Startup or Lean Software Development. He will cover lean concepts of respect, process improvement, understanding of customers, and work flow.
Jim is the author of "Personal Kanban", a helpful book about how to apply Lean techniques to personal goals. You can find Jim on twitter at @ourfounder
Lean Startup Seattle is for anyone interested in the application of Lean Startup Principles and the Customer Development process developed by Steve Blank and refined by Eric Ries. We are bringing the Seattle Lean Startup community together in a variety of formats to learn from each other.
