Bring people to your Lean Startup Experiments by Emily Rapp
Details
As we look at the Lean Startup process of engaging with customers early, we have the task of finding the right customers. Randomly selecting people from the street corner is not suitable for all businesses. If you were put put up a landing page and attract users to it, how would you attract people who are likely to be your customers to the page?

Emily is a product manager at Google, where she is working to help build the next generation in online advertising tools for search, display, and video. Emily will explore the question of how to effectively reach the audience for your Lean Startup experiments. Online advertising enables businesses of all sizes to connect with their customers, and she will cover the foundations of how to create, manage, and measure your advertising campaigns.
Prior to joining Google, Emily was the Director of Product Management at the Bellevue-based advertising technology startup Rare Crowds. She has also held roles at Wetpaint (a digital media technology startup acquired in December of 2013) and Microsoft, where she worked as a program manager in the Bing/Microsoft Advertising R&D platform. Originally from the California Bay Area, she moved to Seattle after receiving her B.S. in Mathematics of Computation from UCLA.
Lean Startup Seattle is for anyone interested in the application of Lean Startup Principles and the Customer Development process developed by Steve Blank and refined by Eric Ries. We are bringing the Seattle Lean Startup community together in a variety of formats to learn from each other.
