Dead Startup Society

Celebrating Failure

Many of us have been involved in startups that have failed - some quietly, some spectacularly, most somewhere in between. Come along to reflect and share our failures and the lessons we've learned from them.

Be sure to bring memorabilia (business cards, tchotchkes etc) that we can ceremoniously throw away - they'll be collected and burned off-site.

Did we mention that it's Global Entrepreneurship Week?

Likewise! Was good to hear everyone's (much abridged I'm sure) stories and learnings! If you're interested in popin it's still live/lying in state in the ios app store: Thinking of open sourcing it at some point soon in lieu of facebook giving us a billion $$'s.....

Was a great meeting! For your amusement or interest here is our presentation that we made to the banks: Password: 123 - the idea is still valid, but the "window of opportunity" is well past.....

I especially enjoyed the farewell hymn from Rabbi Dave. It seemed to focus everyone's thoughts in a solemn collective moment of reflection. A very worthwhile event and good learnings.

Great idea, great turnout, and great to surface and talk about the real lessons that got all us entrepreneurs to this point. Big thanks to Nick & Sam.

Formal stuff should be done by 7pmish. Would like to see people stay on afterwards to talk more about their ventures in smaller groups + until bar tab runs out :)

I'm putting together a sort of 'service programme' for this.

Send through the name (and logo file!) of a failed venture you'll be sharing and I'll put you in so you get some extra loving! -[masked]

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
