I decided to start this group , because I noticed a big interest in learning Arabic. So this group will be basically composed of new students who seek to learn Arabic. Anyone one is welcome to join the group, but the classes are a paid service. I am trying to give the lowest hourly rate to fit the budget of everyone. Those who seek a person to person tutoring will have higher rates.

We will have a separate theme for those who love Arabic culture and who want to learn about the customs and traditions of Arabic in general. There is a big difference between Arab culture and Islamic culture. We will discuss those differences also.

Teaching this class will be held in my house. The debates about Arab customs and traditions could be in any other place. I encourage members to help each other find other places or homes for our discussion meet ups.

Class description:

Level 1 :    You will get introduced to Arabic alphabet, sounds, letters, vowels. You will begin to listen, read, speak and write Arabic from the first  lesson. (10 hours minimum  )

Level 2:  You will begin to read short sentences and get the meaning of what you read. You will get introduced to dictation, so you will start to write short sentences. (10 hours minimum)

Level 3: By this level you will show some mastery of listening, reading, speaking and writing. You will read short paragraphs and small texts. Speak about the theme of the what you have read. Write what you think about it.

Please understand that learning a new language needs some efforts. So basically the learning process of each student will need more practice outside the classroom.

Requirements:

1. Be on time since it is an hourly lesson. It is preferable to come 5 to 10 minutes before the start of the lesson than to be late, because all the other members will be waiting for others.

2. Bring any copybook or whatever thing you want to write on. We are going to write letters, vowels and sounds. Besides we will be revising for few minutes what we have done the previous lesson. so you need to bring something.

Class rates:

1. A group of 5 to 10 members would be $5 per hour. (   2 hours minimum )

2. A group of 2 to 4 members would be $15 per hour. (  2 hours minimum )

3. A person to person tutoring would be $20 per hour. (  . 2 hours minimum )

 When is the class held?

The class would be held according to the students schedule. Basically I am available from 8 am to 2 pm Saturdays and Sundays.

Others who can not come on week end, we will figure out some other classes during the week days .

Where is the class held?

The class will be held in my house ( basement).

For those who need private tutoring in their houses, just let me know. I can commute.

Notice: Please this class is mainly to learn Standard Arabic Language. So I am not teaching dialects. The reason for that is that Standard Arabic is understood by the majority of educated people in the Arab World. This class is not for teaching Quran or tafseer ( explanation of Quran). If you wnat to learn about Islamic teaching and the Holy Book Quran, you should contact the Imam of the masjid ( mosque ). There are always free classes there.

If you have any question or suggestion, please just contact me.
