Why do you want to learn Chinese?

I would like to learn Chinese mostly out of curiosity. I'm a linguist geek and I find the language very fascinating. It is very fresh compared to the indo-european languages that I know. I also see it beneficial since it is one of the languages with the most speakers around the world.

Have you ever learn Chinese before?

I only know a little bit. I've been studying for about a month, but I've done so much research into the history and culture of the language.

What is the best Chinese related memories you ever had? (movies, foods, etc.)

Being able to understand a sales pitch for seal paste in Shanghai.

I am a student at the University of Houston and have just started studying Mandarin on my own. I'm trying to find the most help I can get.

What Ellis R. is saying about this Meetup Group

I'm learning a lot and having fun. The class is a great opportunity to learn faster and more securely.
