Actually, I started salsa dancing in Tokyo :) I grew up in OC, but spent the last 8 years in Japan, and have been a dancer for my whole life. During college, I was struck with a rare neurological disease named Spinal Cord Infarction, which initially laid me paralyzed from the neck-down, and as a result I took 3.5 years off from dancing, to recover from it all. Towards the end of my recovery, I happened to attend a corporate New Year's Party that had a salsa performance. After the show, the male-dancer started showing the Basic Step (1-2-3, 5-6-7). All 150-people-crowd started to follow him, including myself. I looked around, and not only were people "getting it", they were having a blast!! Seeing so many people get so excited from dancing the Basic Step inspired me to start dancing again, and a few days later, I took a COURAGEOUS step and dropped into a salsa group class. Salsa led me to Ballroom, I became a certified ballroom instructor, and soon an avid salsera :)
Hello. I a professional ballroom/salsa dancer & instructor, and am the leading instructor of Learn Salsa Dancing in the Valley. My partner Allen Walls and I are very excited to share my passion for dancing with others!!!
