Looking for a partner for the WCS Flash Mob? Read this!

Hello Dancers,

Here is some information for those that want to be included in the West Coast Swing Flashing Mob perfomance at our New Year's Eve event at the Fine Arts Center.

First of all, everyone needs to have a partner. If you do not have a partner, you are not alone! We have a number of people that know the routine, or are learning the routine in our Friday classes, that are still looking for a dance partner that is attending our New Year's Eve event and one who wants to dance with the 'Flashing Mob.'

So, if you are looking for a partner, here are some suggestions. First of all, everyone needs to know the choreography very well, especially if you want to dance with someone who is not your regular dance partner. We are teaching the Flash Mob routine in our 7:15pm, Friday, West Coast Swing classes at Spectrum Wellness Center all of December. We have two levels of classes, one group is for beginners and one group is for experienced dancers. Coming to our classes is a great way to learn & practice the routine and to find a partner that is suitable for you. See our calendar for details about our Friday, West Coast Swing classes.

Also, we have scheduled a practice on December 29th at the Fine Arts Center.  If you are planning on coming and are looking for a partner, you might consider posting a comment with your December 29th RSVP to let others know. We want everyone to be pro-active in finding a partner that suits them. (Please note, this is a practice for people that already know the routine or want to come meetup to cheer us on. There is no lesson, just a practice.) Here is the link for our Flashing Mob & Dance Contest practice:

Below is a YouTube video of the West Coast Swing Flash Mob routine taught and demonstrated by the choreographers, Damien and Lisa. It's pretty challenging to learn the routine by video alone, but you can use this as a reference to practice what you've been learning. Here's the link, which is also listed in a document in the file section of our meetup group under WCS YouTube Videos. The choreography for the flash mob is always danced to the same music, DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love Again by Usher.

Tickets are now on sale for New Year's Eve at the Fine Arts Center! Here is the link to our meetup calendar where you'll find the link to FAC, so you can purchase tickets. Don't forget that reduced rates are only good through December 15th! And, remember to RSVP on our meetup calendar too.

We really need as many people as possible to dance the Flashing Mob routine with us at our New Year's Eve event! The more, the merrier! We want a MOB!

Debbie and Richard
