The Three Constitutions (Prakriti): Vata, Pitta, Kapha

Details

Each individual has a unique constitution, or three basic types of energy known as the doshas. The doshas—vata, pitta, and kapha—are the building blocks of the material world. All three of them can be found in everyone and everything, but in different proportions. Your basic constitution, or Prakriti, will determine your individual physical, mental, and emotional traits.

Each person has an Ayurvedic constitution that is specific to him or her, and moving away from that constitution creates several imbalances within that individual’s system. If such imbalances are not addressed in a timely manner, Ayurveda says then illness may develop. So, the early signs of imbalance/s serve as a wakeup call to make gentle and natural shifts in behaviour to return to balance—such as adjusting diet, modifying daily activities and taking herbal remedies for a time.

In this lecture and discussion, Vinod Sharma will explain in detail the three types of Doshas (combination of universal elements), individual Prakruti (constitution) and Vikruti (imbalances) and how they affect our physical, mental and emotional well-being.

Vata (Space + Air) –

Pitta (Air + Fire + Water) -

Kapha (Water + Earth) –

During the discussion, the characteristic features of each dosha (elements’ combination) and how they affect our system, not only at the physical level but also at mental, psychological, emotional and spiritual level will be discussed in a very logical manner and in a little detail.

You can also raise some questions/points relevant to the topic of discussion to have a better understanding of this most ancient and timeless science.

Cost: $250

RSVP is required.
