Drupal Themimg

At this workshop we will take a deep dive into Drupal theming;

how inheritance works
the Drupal way of overwriting theming for modules and core .css files
main template files and why we might use them
extra template files that allow more granular customization

The workshop is a structured a bit different this week, it will be more of an instructor lead discussion rather then our usual hands on workshops. The flow will be using a presentation to discuss the key points and then jumping into the template files to look at some code.

    Theming, although at a higher aptitude level than where i am on the drupal learning curve was explained in bite size chunks last night - basically, you can style down to the smallest element on your page if you follow the drupal protocol and use 2 dashes!

    Over all I thought it was a good session. I've been developing themes for a while now and I got a fair bit out of the presentation. There is a real need for these types of sessions, keep up the good work, I'll defiantly attend more of these session

    Aimeemaree took what was a very complex topic and put it into useful chunks for easier digestion. The explanation of the 'gotchas' was very useful. Thanks again to Demonz for the pizzas and drinks.
