Our weekly Monday and Wednesday evening classes alternate between TaiChi and QiGong on a rotating basis.
Set amid the tranquil oriental backdrop of Temple holistic fitness centre, we penetrate the mysteries of movement, body-mechanics and mindfulness with the graceful, yet deadly and ancient art of NeiJia TaiChi Quan.
Founded on the 13 essences of the TaiChi Classic text, TaiChi training takes us on an evolutionary journey through the 4 ascending skill levels of movement, breathing, martial application and FaJing (meditation on exclusive spinal contractions). Training develops balance, co-ordination and mental accuity.
Philosophical training covers valuable examples from the Classics and guides the explorer though the mysteries of the Dao.

QiGong training focuses on the detailed art of manipulating the breath, organs and energies of the body to improve day to day health and vitality. Our ShaoYi or "guarding one" meditation guides the student through tuning in to a pulse developing a beat and moving to an internal rhythm.
Initial QiGong practice at the Temple is based on the 4 intricate levels of the BaDuanJin or 8 Silk Brocades.
Our students often report feeling calm, balanced and refreshed after practice.
