Semantic BDD: Using ShouldIT? to visualise your project through features.
Details
Howdy Javascripters!
It is the start of spring and we have a great talk lined up for you! Richard McIntyre (http://mackstar.com) is back with another talk about his BDD tool ShouldIT? that he created whilst at BBC Sport. Last time (https://www.meetup.com/LeedsJS/events/182848122/) Richard gave us an intro into ShouldIT and now we're really excited to see what has changed over the last year!
A Brief intro to the talk from Richard:
"BDD is hard to get right but ShouldIT? tries to make it simpler to communicate tasks that need to be done.
With ShouldIT? visualisation you have a clear view of your entire project giving you a clear indication of delivery progress that you can share.
As a BDD enthusiastI want to use ShouldIT? So that I can have simpler feature files and can test in any language"
Richard is a polyglot freelance developer with experience working with some great brands in the North of England and a little further afield in Japan.
We hope you are all as excited as we are to see this talk! In the mean time why not follow Richard on Twitter (https://twitter.com/mackstar) or join us in our LeedsJS Slack Community (https://docs.google.com/a/bloo.ie/forms/d/1azdvVJOBfxeFzrDva5j93RWyIGOf7YXYNn2NfGwnSLY/viewform) and become part of the conversation. You might even see Richard in our Slack channel from time to time!
As ever there will be food, drink and maybe even prizes again this month! We hope to see you there at 6:45 for a brief chat before we have a 10-15 minute demo and the main talk starts at 7:30. Most people show up early to have a drink, network and talk about all things Javascript before the demo and talk.
Please note the group is intended for developers looking to expand their knowledge in a recruiter free zone. Whilst interest from recruitment consultants is nice we have a no recruiters policy.
If you are interested in speaking or demoing at Leeds JS you can join us on slack (https://docs.google.com/a/bloo.ie/forms/d/1azdvVJOBfxeFzrDva5j93RWyIGOf7YXYNn2NfGwnSLY/viewform) to discuss or fill out our Call For Papers (https://docs.google.com/a/bloo.ie/forms/d/1OvhV2eXejNZs17-_BH0nKs8xKfGqNF00fBP1uJHskfE/viewform) form. All experience levels welcome!
