Field Trip: Conowingo Dam, MD

Conowingo Dam in Maryland holds anywhere from ten to hundreds of Bald Eagles as well as assorted gulls. That is the excuse to drive past Lancaster Farmers' Market for breakfast delicacies and Shady Maple buffet to stretch our stomachs before the Christmas gluttony starts in ernest. Difficulty: Easy - Medium. Weather might be wintery. It is an all day trip. Walking is minimal. There will be stops indoors.

What to bring: Dress in layers. We will be indoors at times and outdoors by water. Bring a scope if you have one. Bring cash to share the cost of the ride with the driver. You will also want to have money for food at the farmer's market and dinner.
