Our lineup of speakers gets more impressive every day. One of the nation's most respected think tanks for health care policy, the Galen Institute (www.galen.org), is sending one of the four authors of the dynamite new book Why ObamaCare is Bad for America, and whichever of the four it is, we can guarantee you've seen him or her on national TV and in the pages of national publications talking about, well, WHY ObamaCare is bad for America!

Dr. Alieta Eck, from the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) - www.aapsonline.org - has confirmed that she'll be speaking at our event as well. You've probably seen Dr. Eck talking with Judge Andrew Napolitano about free market health care, or how to provide care for the uninsured WITHOUT government assistance, or during one of her many appearances before congressional committees.

Dr. Eck and three other women physicians affiliated with the Independent Women's Forum produced a series of BLOCKBUSTER commercials prior to the 2010 election, urging people to find out where Congressional candidates stood on repealing the PPACA and to support those who promised to get rid of ObamaCare. It's been my pleasure to know Dr. Eck for many years through our joint advocacy for medical liability reform - she's a brilliant lady, a great doctor, and an inspiring speaker.

One of the national spokes-doctors (is that a word?) for the powerful new physician advocacy group Docs for Patient Care (www.Docs4PatientCare.org), Dr. Dick Armstrong, will tell us how ObamaCare affects doctors, patients and access to care, while two of the leaders of the brand new Pennsylvania chapter of D4PC will detail other aspects of the PPACA.

BTW, our event will be the nationwide public kickoff for the new PA chapter of Docs for Patient Care, and they'll be hosting a reception for area physicians immediately after the ObamaCare workshop.

Other speakers will cover important aspects of ObamaCare like how it will stifle American medical innovation, and how it affects business and the economy, how it affects states' abilities to manage their own health care expenditures, and efforts right here in PA to nullify or have it declared unconstitutional. We'll also hear about national efforts to defund, repeal and replace ObamaCare with the kinds of reforms that will accomplish the goals its supporters SAID the PPACA would accomplish.

Please look at this list carefully. It is a little dated and Im not sure if it refers to Senate bill or House bill and so the pages may be off if it is the House bill, but it does do a pretty good job at outlining ....make that amazing job --- at summerizing Obamacare.

While both bills were very similar, on a gut level I believe there is something very significantly different (and dangerous) that was snuck into the Senate bill and wasn't in the House bill. I don't know what it was but there was a big deal made about being sure it was the Senate version that was passed and not the house bill.

If you recall because it was being pushed as a "revenue" bill it HAD to be a House bill which is why they ended up taking the House bill and gutted the contents and then inserted the senate bill into it's place thereby officially making it a house bill that was passed. Hi Terry.
There were three versions of "ObamaCare:" HR 3200--1100 pages; HR 3962--1900 pages; and HR 3590--2700 pages. The version you reference was the first. The version that was eventually passed in March 2010 was the longest one--HR 3590 or PPACA.
The first two had very similar boilerplate sections, only with more added in the second bill. PPACA was much different. It incorporated additional statist ideas and controls and was unfinished when passed, requiring a Reconciliation Act (HR4872)

Thanks Dr. Berg for your comments. I am all too familiar with all 2700 pages. It took three solid days to get thru it. And you are right, it does incorporate many additional statist ideas and controls.

To be honest, I do believe that putting thru the reconciliation act as a "reconcilliation" was a deliberate planned manuever. just my opinion, but as Ive watched this law come to life, and as I've watched all of the subsequent legislation pass that actually are a flushing out of what is in the health care act, I have come to the conclusion that everything that this admistration does is carefully planned and orchestrated.

With respect to the Reconciliation Act I do believe that that part of the law is the part that will empower the government to close private, Christian daycares, gradeschools, highschools, and universities that embrace certain beliefs and ethical standards. The way this all comes together is actually quite brilliant in its comprehensive ability to destroy freedom and create a tyranical government.

The site I referenced above was sent to me and to be honest I wasn't sure which version it was from. I had sent an email to the person, but hadn't heard from them. Thanks for clarifying it for me.
