A few things I'd like to clarify:

Noticing our own confusion is valuable. When something unexplained or unexpected happens, it indicates that your understanding of the world is incomplete or wrong. No one has a complete understanding, so we should expect surprises and use them as an opportunity to learn. Past events that remain puzzling are standing opportunities.

The flip side of "What would convince you you're wrong?" is "Why do you believe what you believe?" Whatever evidence or reasoning supports your belief, if that were to change then your belief must change. Evidence is always linked to the truth.

Choices require hypotheticals. If you can't decide whether you would want an immortality pill, then you can't decide if it is worth trying to develop. This applies to any future tech or project. If you refuse to consider hypotheticals because they are not real, then you have no input on steering the future.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
