Presentation on the Center for Applied Rationality

*** NOTE WE'RE TRYING A DIFFERENT LOCATION AGAIN!! Thank you to Doctor W for the feedback.

First of all, I'm really sorry that I didn't see you guys at the other table at the last meetup, and that I then had to leave early. I felt like everyone had not such a good time because of it, and I feel bad for you all.

On a much more positive note, I've just had an amazing time with the Center for Applied Rationality in Berkeley, learning about the science of how to get my brain to do useful things and how to apply this to my life. I'd love to give a presentation and Q&A about what I learned.

Their website is here:

http://appliedrationality.org/

The website doesn't quite give the right impression of CFAR's current curriculum though - it makes it sound like it's more about fighting your brain's natural tendency to do silly things, when what I learned was mostly about taking ownership of your brain's natural ability to do certain things really well.

Steven - I don't know if you're able to come to this one. If so then you already know about CFAR, but don't worry I'll give you something fun to do!

Also, anyone know what happened to my glasses case which I was using to prop up the LW sign at the last meetup? (And the sign itself, but I can print a new one of those). I assume I left it behind when I left.

Looking forward to seeing you all,

Giles
