The Nebraska Humane Society Walk for the Animals is an annual event to raise money for the Humane Society and simply a wonderful time for humans and canines alike. Taysia Blue Siberian Husky Rescue will have a booth at the event. I'm going to form a "Dog Pack" for Let the Fur Fly. What a site it will be to have so many gorgeous sibes hanging out together! This will be a great opportunity to network the rescue and the play group with other sibe owners.
NHS provided these tid bits:
Things you need to know...
Parking: Our lot fills pretty quickly but as people leave spots open up Shuttle parking ? Park in the Con Agra lot north of Bakers on the northeast corner of 90th and Fort and hop a bus over (We try to be good neighbors and not take Bakers spaces!) Valet parking--for $20 you can pull in on the North side of Fort Street and professional valets will take care of your vehicle.
Near the shelter: Pancake Man will be in our new training center (about 50 yards west of where he was last year) with picnic tables in front of the shelter. $6 a person. Retail Store on the east side of our front walk. Pick up any supplies you forgot. Registration in the Bone Jour Parking lot just outside the meadow.
On the meadow: Vendor Village ? Our sponsors will have giveaways and information on pet products and services. Flealess Market ? Our silent auction on the meadow. Rescue Groups ? See what local volunteers are doing to help your favorite breeds. Adoption Parade at 9:00 a.m. ? Meet dogs who are looking for new home. Alumni Parade ? Dogs who?ve been adopted from NHS lead the pack as we kick off the Walk. Dachshund Dash ? A short walk route for little legs around the outside of the meadow, if your height challenged dog can?t make the whole route.
The Walk: Follow the alumni leaders out the gate along the sidewalk east, thru the park and onto the Keystone trail. Walk to the soccer field, loop around and head back for a lovely one mile walk. (Too short? Go twice!)
Meet local Omaha Husky families and advocates. Husky mixes and other Northern Breeds are welcome.
We are rescue advocates and particularly interested in meetups with folks who have adopted and/or rescued their Husky family members, but of course ALL Sibe friends are welcome!!
Meet ups will take place at the Dog Park or other securely fenced areas as well as planned hikes and urban mushing on regional trails.
This group is for Meeting and Greeting other Huskies and their owners for FUN AND PLAY TIME.
***** PLEASE DO NOT use this group as a means for finding a Breeding Mate or as a resource for Selling Puppies. However we do welcome notification of Huskies in shelters or rescue groups that are in need for forever families. Thank you so much for joining us!! *****
