As You Like It is back!
2015 has given us many highlights already but our most popular event was no doubt this one. Don't worry if you missed it - we're bringing it back.
Earlier in June, our members came out saying this -

With "All the world’s a stage" given a hilarious rendition, evocative music and dance, plus a leading man removing more than his tunic and smock, this production has all you'd expect from the Globe and a little bit more!

Quintessentially Elizabethan, 'As You Like It' runs the gamut of pastoral romance, with cross-dressing and brilliant conversation.
Very reminiscent of 'Shakespeare In Love', as a bonus this production stars the brilliant Michelle Terry as Rosalind.
For the historically minded, As You Like It is the play that opened the Globe in 1599 with one William Shakespeare himself in the role of Adam.
This evening performance will bring that world back vividly to life.

These tickets are for the Lower Gallery, we have the best value tickets in the lowest priced bays. They offer a side view of the stage, similar to the viewpoint from the yard in the photo above. Every seat in the Globe offers a restricted view, pillars abound around the stage but these have been chosen for their great value and being lower gallery you are near to the actors.
If you prefer a back row seat, to lean against the wall, please let me know when you book by posting below. This will be offered to people who book in advance only. Other seats are in the 2 rows directly in front of the back row.

Rosalind, the daughter of an unjustly exiled duke, falls in love with the wronged Orlando, a courtier deprived of his birthright by his brother – but her usurping uncle, jealous of her popularity, banishes her from court. Disguised as a boy and accompanied by her cousin Celia, she seeks out her father and his friends in the Forest of Arden. There she meets Orlando again and, under the guise of a young man, counsels him in the art of love.

Michelle Terry is one of British theatre’s brightest young talents. After graduating from the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA) in 2004, Michelle made numerous appearances on stage in the West End, with the Royal National Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Company.
She has also appeared on Ricky Gervais’ TV comedy Extras. She won Best Actress in a Supporting Role at the 2011 Olivier Awards, for The Royal Court Theatre production of Tribes.

Shakespeare's Globe is a reconstruction of the Globe Theatre, an Elizabethan playhouse in the London Borough of Southwark, on the south bank of the River Thames that was originally built in 1599, destroyed by fire in 1613, rebuilt in 1614, and then demolished in 1644. The modern reconstruction is an academic approximation based on available evidence of the 1599 and 1614 buildings. It was built about 230 metres (750 ft) from the site of the original theatre and opened to the public in 1997, with a production of Henry V.
