Announcing a new Meetup for Let's Go to AfternoonTea!!
What: Tea and Dim Sum
When: July 15,[masked]:00 AM
Price: $3.00 per person
Where: (A location has not been chosen yet.)
Tea and Dim Sum! I consider Dim Sum to be the Chinese equivalent of Afternoon Tea! Besides delicious dim sum, Fu Lam Mum offers Pu-erh, Saumei, Oolong, Jasmine and Chrysanthemum tea. Pu-erh is their black choice, Saumei is white tea, Jasmine is green and the Chrysanthemum tea is flowers only.
Crystal, asst organizer, found this great article about what Dim Sum is and how it came to be - check it out:http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2009/01/28/FDGJ15D5ID.DTL

The menu has been scanned. To find the menu with prices and tea selections, click on files link above on the left side.
If you've not been out for dim sum before, this is how it works; waiters wheel carts around with the different food offerings (see the menu). If our group wants to try what is passing by, we flag the waiter and ask for the number of items we want. The waiter obliges and ticks off our menu/order pad. This continues until we (all of us sharing the meal) are satisfied. When we have had our fill, the bill is totaled (tax will be added but not a tip) and we split the total. It is impossible to say what each of us will pay as it will depend on what we order. Crystal, maybe you can comment on the average amount you've paid when you have eaten there?
$3.00 fee includes all meetup, amazon, and admin fees.
