Lime Kiln Loop, Rockwoods Reservation

Meet at the Lime Kiln Trail parking lot at 6:00, trail time is 6:10. You may want to print the MAP (http://extra.mdc.mo.gov/documents/area_brochures/5405map.pdf) and bring it with you, or there are usually maps available at the trailhead.

NEW: Dogs are permitted but must be on a leash. Bring your dog only if you can keep up with the group.

We'll hike the Lime Kiln Loop (http://extra.mdc.mo.gov/documents/area_brochures/5405map.pdf), in Rockwoods Reservation (http://mdc4.mdc.mo.gov/applications/moatlas/AreaSummaryPage.aspx?txtAreaID=5405), a scenic 3.2 miles trail through the woods, which should take about 1.5 hours to complete. We may add the 2 mile Rock Quarry trail afterwards, if anyone is up to it, which would add about another 45 minutes to the hike.

BRING: This is a dirt/rock trail, so wear hiking boots or sturdy tennis shoes, always bring the map of the area, bug repellent, water, and possibly a snack. Also, some people use trekking poles to help keep their footing while hiking hills.

Missouri Department of Conservation has rated the 3.2 miles Lime Kiln Loop Trail as difficult.

DIRECTIONS:

From Manchester/100, take 109 South, to Woods Rd, turn right. At the T intersection on Woods Road, turn right to the Lime Kiln Loop trailhead parking lot on the right.

From Hwy 44, take 109 North to Woods Rd, turn left. At the T intersection on Woods Road, turn right to the Lime Kiln Loop trailhead parking lot on the right.
