About us
- Hiking, walking, biking, kayaking, and other activities. From beginner to advanced, for fun or fitness, for the beauty of nature!
- Hiking Pace: Learn your personal hiking pace, attend hikes similar to your pace. Our event organizers typically provide the pace expected for their event. A general rule of thumb, for trails in our area:
• Easy is 2 to 2.5 miles per hour.
• Moderate is 2.5 to 3.0 miles per hour. (typical average pace)
• Brisk is 3.0 to 3.5 miles per hour.
• Fast is 3.5+ miles per hour. - Our focus is not "singles," so there may be both single people and married people participating.
- Our adventures are mainly in the St. Louis County and surrounding areas, but sometimes further away.
- Actively participating hikers (members) may request to join the leadership team and set up activities. Please contact the organizer if interested.
- Leadership Team: The membership status of leadership team members who are inactive over an extended period of time or have never lead or hosted events after being added to the leadership team will be changed back to normal member status, but may be added back if the member is in good standing and wants to once again lead events.
- Group membership requires an actual photo of yourself for your profile.
WELCOME to Let's Hike!
We're glad you have joined our group. Remember that the people who run our events are volunteers. Please be courteous and respectful to your event hosts.
Let's Hike member tips:
- Read the event description before RSVP. It includes information that helps events run smoothly.
- Check your RSVP'd events, keep RSVPs current and update to not attending as soon as possible if unable to make an event, even if you are on the wait list.
- To respect our hike leaders and members, habitual NO-SHOWS will be removed from the group.
- Check events before leaving your house for changes or cancellations.
- Do not alter another person's event. Posting comments on event pages asking if anyone wants to do "something else" or "suggest" that the organizers do what you want creates chaos and is disrespectful to the event host.
- Actively participating hikers (members) may request to join the leadership team to set up activities. Please contact the organizer if interested.
- Dogs: Please keep dogs leashed. Sometimes dogs are not allowed, so If not posted in the hike description, ask by posting the question on the event page. Some locations do not allow dogs.
We all enjoy the outdoors (members and volunteer organizers) and safety and accountability are always each individual's responsibility. Neither Let's Hike as a group nor individual organizers can be held liable for injuries sustained during events.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our events enjoyable for event hosts and members.
