Easy-Does-It Beginner-level Hike
Details
Have you ever wanted to meet a group for a hike, but were worried that the hike might be too much for you? Or maybe you've wanted to check out the trails at the Preserve, but weren't sure where to go? Well, this is the hike for you!
I'm leading a 3 mile (approx.) hike on one of my most favorite trails in Phoenix. It's not because the views are great (although they are), and it's not because of the wildlife (although the quail are always out and about) - it's one of my favorite trails because it's been my go-to trail when I needed a place to "begin-again" my fitness undertakings over the years.
The trail is mostly flat, with just enough rolling hills to stretch your legs and keep it interesting. A little rocky in some places, but nice and smooth in others. A portion of the trail can get busy with mountain bikers, so it's always good to keep an ear out for bikes approaching from behind.
For those of you familiar with the Preserve, we'll be doing a loop around the northern range. We'll start at the 40th street spur, head west on trail 100 toward Dreamy Draw, but as we come around the west end of the north range, we'll loop back and head east toward 40th St.
Bring enough water for a 60 to 75 minute hike.
I hope to see you there!
