The Levine jazz jam is an opportunity for musicians of any age and proficiency to experience jazz from the inside. In a fun and structured environment facilitated by Levine jazz faculty members, musicians will get a chance to play and improvise on well-known jazz standards.
Jam sessions are a musical environment that everyone regardless of skill level can benefit from and enjoy, and we will have charts (sheet music) on hand so you don't need to worry about being perfectly prepared. All you need to do is come out and play! These jams are $5 at the door (or time of RSVP) for students not currently enrolled in Levine.
This jam will be lead by Andrew Hare (drums) and Pepe Gonzalez (bass). Pepe and Andrew will lead participants through common tunes, ensemble concepts, and jamming. We will have some charts on hand, and students are encouraged to bring their own Real Book!
