Announcing a new Meetup for Levine Guitar Nights!

What: Blues Jam Night

When: March 18,[masked]:00 PM

Price: $5.00 per person

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Meetup Description: Come join us for the first Levine Blues Jam Night of the Spring! These meetings are dedicated to creating opportunities for guitarists of any level to hang out in a relaxed environment while discussing techniques and methods behind contemporary guitar performance as well as performing publicly in an open mic jam session.

On March 18, the first 30-45 minutes of the Blues Jam will be dedicated to a guitar specific class discussing the 12 bar blues form, taught by Levine guitar instructors Matthew Dievendorf and Gary Prince. We will learn to recognize our place in the form aurally during live performance. We will discuss guitar voicings and strumming patterns to use. Finally we will cover well used introductions and outros that blues musicians use to start and end the blues. If there is time we will incorporate a small listening session to point out the discussion points.

The remaining[masked] hours will be a rotating jam session. We welcome vocalists, drummers, bassists, and horn players.

In future blues nights we plan on featuring a different regional blues style each night. This will pair listening and demonstration with discussions on the evolution of these styles.

Refreshments will be provided. We welcome beginners as well as advanced guitarist of any age. Just bring your instrument (note: if bringing an electric guitar/bass, we have some amps but only a limited number so you may want to bring your own amp). Looking forward to seeing you there!
