Do you consider yourself liberal/progressive (as in left-of-center politically)? If not, why do you want to join this group?

Definitely. I have voted Democrat in every election. I would vote Socialist but it would waste my vote.

Are you a Baby Boomer (born 1946 through 1964, roughly), or nearly a baby boomer, or at least fond of baby boomers?

I am a Baby Boomer.

Favorite places/activities/events you would like to see scheduled?

I didn't read all the previous events yet. I love the boathouse and renting boats in Forest Park. I love the hot air balloon race, but the balloon glow is the best part. I love the free seats at the Muny when it is not deadly hot. I love Shakespeare in the Park, which just ended. I like camping and used to do float trips, but would really like to try one of the big inflated rafts for 6 people.

Are you active with any charitable, civic, or political groups or activities?

No, but thanks for asking.

Do you care to add something?

No answer yet

Introduction

My name is Mary Carroll. I am a retired children's librarian. I live in the St Louis area. I am single and interested in doing fun things with other people. This is my first meetup group. I am liberal and a boomer, so this group would be perfect.

What Mary C. is saying about this Meetup Group

I have only attended three events, but the group is welcoming and fun. Randy, thank you so much for all your hours and hours of work setting this up and keeping us all together enjoying the time. The people who shared that they knew Terry Beck from earlier made it feel like we had all shared all these decades of music with them. Terry is amazing. I do not know how one man on a guitar could sound like every male singer in every genre in every decade that I care about. (No Sinatra) He was warm and welcoming and did things to help us, like keeping a strong drum beat going on even the complicated songs so dancers could keep on dancing. And helping us do the "echoes" that Neil Diamond does in his concerts. And letting us know he played with Harry Chapin so we could appreciate those songs more. His brother will help fill that Chapin hole. http://www.tomchapin.com/ My personal favorite moment was when Randy was talking to us and a wonderful song came on and he RAN to dance with his wife.
