Speakers Corner (Open Mic Night)
Hosted by Libertarian Home Meetups
Details
Usual monthly meet-up in the Rose and Crown, get the right one there are two in Southwark!
This is an informal drinks event to discuss Libertarian theories, recent news and events in general, the state of Libertarianism in the various parties and in the culture.
To get us started there will be three back-to-back ten minute open-mic sessions from 2030 to 2100. Speaker's Corner rules will apply, which means interuptions and heckling are encouraged, but there will be no separate Q&A. If you don't get through your material, you'll be shooed (or booed) off.
I'm pretty sure that will make it pretty lively, but last time we did this it was surprisingly civil too (as Hyde Park is, to be fair), so don't be discouraged. Remember, your audience is all basically on the same side and it's supposed to be fun. Also, if you don't apply Simon may have to show you his holiday pictures for 30 minutes solid.
Applications to speak will be taken between 1930 and 2030 and the organising tyrant's decision is final.
We will be upstairs for this one, but if the weather is fine, you may be more likely to find people in the garden for the first part of the evening... it can be difficult to herd libertarians anywhere if their incentives aren't correctly aligned.
