We're really excited to meet those of you who are able to attend the first-ever meeting of the Grand Adventure Travel Club. I wish every member could be there but I know schedules are tight, especially this time of year.
We are currently searching for a suitable location, ideally a centrally-located (Chicago city proper) independent coffee house or restuarant with adequate space and a great menu. We would especially love a venue with authentic ethnic cuisine or cultural leanings! If you have any suggestions, PLEASE post your response here or email me.
No matter where we decide to meet, plan on having a good time. We'll grab a bite to eat, get to know each other and brainstorm on places we'd like to visit and adventures we'd like to share - - locally and around the world. To that end, please be thinking of some good ideas for a local adventure (mild or wild)for our SECOND meetup, proposed for mid-January. Maybe you'd like to climb out on those plexi-glass observation boxes at the top of the Willis (Sears) Tower. Or you may want to try your hand at a thrilling game of Whirly-ball. Or learn to make sushi. Or visit the Frank Lloyd Wright Museum. Whatever is on your Bucket List for our own great city, please share it with the rest of the group even if you can't attend this first Meetup.
Again, I'm so looking forward to meeting all of you, whether at this Meetup or the next, In the meantime, keep those ideas for Grand Adventures coming!
