I have been recently diagnosed with a serious heart condition. Although it won't affect my daily activities or keep me from traveling, it WILL prevent me from engaging in the more strenuous adventures I had envisioned for this group: skydiving, rock-climbing, etc.
Because of this change, I have had to re-think the focus of this group. I have decided to concentrate this group on cultural and culinary adventures: wine tours, cultural events, dining out and reviewing great restaurants, cooking classes and competitions, attending local and international festivals and special events, "hands-on" cooking vacations, etc. (These are activities that I dearly enjoy and can still participate in.) We will continue to plan exciting things to do together here in Chicago and around the world, and as always, I welcome your ideas and suggestions. I am re-naming the group "Salut! A Culinary Adventure Club" to reflect the new focus.
I am hoping that you all will embrace this new direction for our group, and that you'll stay with me to enjoy many great cultural and culinary adventures together. However, if this new focus does not appeal to you, there are many fine Adventure Meetups in Chicago where you can get your "adrenaline" fix -- simply type the word "Adventures" in the search box at the top of your meetup page for the list. I will be sorry to see you go, but will, of course, understand and wish you the very best.
I am truly sorry for any inconvenience, and appreciate your understanding during this period of adjustment.
Very Sincerely Yours,
