What is your favorite locally grown food to eat?

There was a tree on Pine Island located on a vacant waterfront lot a few years ago that had the sweetest tangerines ever.......maybe I will be lucky enough to find it again. I believe it really loved the salt water it drank from the canal. Currently loving the local avocados from friends trees, and sprouts from my kitchen.

Can you tell us about an organic farmer, grower or backyard gardener (including the possibility of yourself) who might invite small groups of interested members to their farm, yard or kitchen to exchange info and possibly host a pot luck?

I LOVE TO HOST POTLUCKS ... AND ITS BEEN AWHILE !!!! thinking about a clothing exchange/potluck soon .... anyone interested let me know!!!

Name some edibles in your or your friends yards.

everglades tomatoes, mangos, papayas, kale, citrus.... oooo boy I could keep going .. but its time to go coconut hunting .....

Share with us a local story related to any aspect of Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability , especially about growing food !!!

started a backyard garden a few years back, went out to Franks farm site to get some compost.... was fortunate enough to help pick some strawberry's too ...that was all it took, I have been planting and picking my own strawberry's ever since. YUM

Share with us anything you would like to, including contact information or your website if you have one and want to share here.Thank You

I am back on track .. after a crazy 6 months ... since my sis's diagnosis ... She is done with her treatments and doing well now .. traveling .. visiting friends and family. So I am happily reconnecting with health focused friends both old and new ... anyone up for a beach walk ... let me know .. got a new cell # it's 450 5969.

I started this group to connect with other like minded folks, to enjoy supporting local farmers and restaurants that do the same ... looking forward to doing more of this . Grateful to anyone who shares local food happenings here.
