Intro to Currents and River Paddling on the Mokelumne River

Join Headwaters Kayak Shop tour guide Bill Beckett for a look at paddling in currents on the Mokelumne River. We will be floating from the base of Camanche Dam to Stillman Magee Park. We will cover how to safely enter and exit current as well as boat control in current. In addition we will enjoy and discuss the array of wildlife that we see along the way. Cost is $40 if you need to rent a kayak and includes kayak, paddle and life jacket. Cost is $20 if you have your own equipment. Call the Headwaters Kayak shop at 209-224-8367 to reserve a spot. Space is limited to 10 rentals and 20 participants per tour. We will meet at 10:00am at Stillman Magee park to set up a river shuttle.
