Please join us for our first London Cloudera User Meetup. We'll have food and drinks and will bring you a few lightning talks from our users. This meetup is open to the public and you do not have to be registered for Strata and Hadoop World to attend.

Talk #1: As the industry celebrates 10 years of Hadoop, BT celebrates 5 years since its first Hadoop cluster took its first faltering steps in Research and 2 years since it launched its production Hadoop as a Service Platform. Phill Radley (Chief data Architect at BT) will reflect on those 5 years sharing insights discovered along the way and discussing why BT is a Cloudera customer. He’ll also sketch out what he sees for the next few years.

Talk #2: Marks & Spencer are now three years into their ongoing Cloudera journey and have experienced a number of challenges and successes along the way. Through an exploration of some key use cases, James Lupton (Principal Big Data Consultant) will share the highs and lows of introducing this new technology into a crowded technical landscape and will outline how the use of Impala has proved to be a true accelerator for Hadoop becoming the analytical platform of choice.

Talk #3: In 2016, the Hadoop project and community turns 10 years old. How has data science changed over this time period? What does Hadoop mean for data science? Change She will take a brief look at the evolution of data tooling and highlight some new and interesting big data initiatives that began at Cloudera.
