Come on, Get active: I want to combine all of our groups and members to form a London EOT 'collective' where students can talk to teachers and be taught by them, and teachers can earn good hourly rates and keep most of the course fees themselves...so cheap, effective, fun and sustainable English courses using free public spaces in London.

In our three EOT groups (conversation, taught lessons and teachers) we now have over 300 students and 80 teachers.

That could be a large English school if most people were active.

We teach 180 students every year at the EOT summer school in London run by teacher Steve Jackson, who usually does a teacher recruiting round in May/June.

Get active, create your own English school on here and become a collective!

Do you teach English in London or are you thinking of doing so? Are you looking for more teaching hours or to work for yourself? Do you want to develop your own solid regular groups and have more control whilst teaching and earning?

Latest news: Check out our book that Steven Pinker has endorsed! Go to:

English Out There is a bit like the EFL/ESL equivalent of flash-mobbing, but with very sound pedagogic principles behind it! The three main things we can achieve are:

1) Better wages for teachers i.e. match what they earn now and make it easy to take it up to a 'proper' hourly rate.

2) Smaller classes

3) Cheaper quality courses for students

Currently, the way schools work, a combination of those three things is impossible.

Languages Out There (using Meetup.com) really think we can help get you earning some extra money teaching in London and maybe even help you to become part or, in time, fully self-employed but without any of the usual problems associated with starting up on your own (premises, student recruitment, taking bookings and payments, scheduling classes etc.).

All you need to get going are the EOT course materials which can help you start your own EOT business with one download session. There is a lot more purchase info here:

Anyone who buys materials at the moment gets online (Skype) support from me at the start (if you want it :-)
