If you listen to the music for a longer time, it becomes almost hypnotic :-)

Join us for an evening of celestial arpeggios from the old Byzantine tradition in the company of acclaimed men choir'Nectarie Protopsaltul'. Performed with refrained solemnity and religious gusto by one of the best Romanian men choirs, the uplifting melodies of the carols and hymns of Eastern Christianity provide the perfect prelude to the festive season.

The 'Nectarie Protopsaltul' Choir was founded in 2001 by a group of young musicians and academics, graduates of both theological and musical schools, with the aim to make the Byzantine musical tradition better known in Romania and abroad. The choir's name was chosen in remembrance of the blessed monk Nektarie, a Romanian by birth and one of Mount Athos's most revered singers, who lived on the Holy Mountain during the second half of the 19th century.

The performance is free. It'll be in the Romanian Parish Church, which I found quite a while ago. It's a very beautiful building and very different from an Anglican or Catholic church...

As usual, join me for a drink after the concert...
