See all- Singer songwriter Dan Whitehouse with Swedish instrumentalist Gustaf LjunggrenFinnish Church in London, London
Acclaimed singer-songwriter Dan Whitehouse has produced three albums, all themed around the physical and metaphorical nature of glass. Songs and stories have been gathered together for ‘A Night Of Glass’, a simple but hypnotic live experience in which, variously behind a piano or on guitar, he takes audiences deep into the heart of glass in its myriad manifestations, his expressively nuanced crystalline vocals, a hint of Bowie here, a touch of Cohen there, effortlessly mining a wealth of emotions and ideas. This is the glass, this is the music through which the light is refracted and is let in. Of Dan's music, “Nothing short of beautiful – **** ” wrote RnR Magazine.
Influenced by having his young son living afar, in Japan, his album ‘The Glass Age’ explores our current screen-fixated communication challenges. ‘Voices from the Cones’, which hit the Folk Charts at #15 and was nominated for an ‘Innovative Project 2022’ award by FATEA, commemorates glassmaking history in Stourbridge. ‘Reflections on the Glass Age’ offers mirror images of the first album, the same songs refracted through acoustic reinterpretations, intimately sung and played to distill the sweet melancholia of the material.
Dan is joined for this special performance by Swedish composer and multi-instrumentalist Gustaf Ljunggren who co-produced and performed on all three of Dan's albums. Lungrenn also brings music from his own Floreana album. “He plays everything from Sax to Synth, Pedal Steel to Piano, and Banjo to Bass!” says Dan, “but above all else, he listens!”
Dan Whitehouse: “Gorgeous… intriguing” The Guardian, “Subtle and delicate melodies” The Sunday Times
Gustaf Ljunggren: “A gentle masterpiece” The Vinyl Anachronist, “Awash with luscious soundscapes of lyrical beauty” At The BarrierVIDEOS

- Montenegro AdventureMontenegro, Montenegro£400.00
The name “Montenegro” derives from the Serbian “Crna Gora”, itself derived from the Venetian “Monte Negro”, and can be translated as “black mountain”, referring to the dark forests that once covered the Dinaric Alps. Quaint towns, gorgeous beaches, stunning coastline, great restaurants, and rugged mountains, that's for sure one of my favourite European countries, and I am inviting you to retreat with me there!
