Christmas Ghost Tales in the Pub

Christmas in London.

Come rest ye, merry gentlemen for a silent night of Christmas Ghost stories, in the best Victorian and Edwardian tradition.

Gather in around the open fire, enjoy a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie, and hear stories of Christmas Ghosts and Victorian hauntings.

Jon Kaneko-James and Dr.Karen Oughton will be telling MR James' A Warning to the Curious; Anthony Lewis will draw you into Charles Dickens' famous tale of terror: The Signalman, plus the real Yuletide ghosts of London, and the ghosts of the Rising Sun pub itself.

A glass of festive mulled wine and a tasty mince pie is included in the entry price.

We wish you a merry Christmas...

PLEASE NOTE: This event will be staged on two nights. If you can't attend on Tuesday, December 11 - there will be another performance (which will be a Spooky London Pubs meetup - on Thursday, 13th December). You can also book directly for the event here.

Wonderful evening, thank you so much for organising. There's something very special about looking out at a 900 year-old church looming out of the mist, sitting by a fire sipping mulled wine and listening to the words of Charles Dickens and MR James. And then a creepy and atmospheric journey home through thick fog. Sorry I didn't get a chance to talk to many people (friend having crisis!) - this was my first H&H event and I'll definitely be back for more in the New Year.

Awesome. Dickensian ghost tales are as much a part of Christmas as carols & plum-pud!
