Details
In the last few months, we have learnt the basics of Julia, and seen how to do statistics and machine learning with Julia. In our next session on the 4th of June, we will dive deeper into the language.
This workshop, led by Mike Innes, will delve into the following topics:
- The Julia compiler - how it works, why it can generate fast code, and how it is changing for 1.0
- Macros - when to use them, how to write them
- Generated functions - what they are, when not to use them
- Performance Tips - what not to do when you want the maximum out of your CPU
Registration, Pizza and Networking: 6:15 PM
Talks Start: 6:45 PM
Talks End: 8:45 PM
Please also save the date for our subsequent event on the 9th of July, where we will talk about parallel processing in Julia.
