London MUG #2: MongoDB's new Java Driver and Sharding Fundamentals

Details
Save the date for February's London MongoDB User Group!
Due to unforeseen circumstances we have a change of plan for this month's London MongoDB User Group -- but we think you'll like what we have in store.
Unfortunately, we have had to postpone the panel discussion for a later date due to the availability of our panelists -- but instead we have got two great presentations lined up for you.
Trisha Gee (https://twitter.com/trisha_gee) -- Java Evangelist for 10gen -- will be giving a Very Rough Guide to the New Java Driver for MongoDB.
The existing Java driver is one of the more... mature... MongoDB drivers. This year 10gen aims to move to a 3.0 version, with a New Improved API. This session covers the design goals for the new driver, and may contain a sneak peek into the new fluent API.
Sam Weaver (https://twitter.com/Samuel_Weaver) -- Solutions Architect for 10gen -- will present on Sharding Fundamentals.
MongoDB was designed for humongous amounts of data, with the ability to scale horizontally via sharding. In this session, we’ll look at MongoDB’s approach to partitioning data, and the architecture of a sharded system. We’ll walk you through configuration of a sharded system, and look at how data is balanced across servers and requests are routed.

Poncho 8 do the best burritos in London according to the Evening Standard, so we are very grateful for their excellent food and great service! Check them out here (http://www.poncho8.com/locations/).
If your company is hiring MongoDB devs, get in touch (https://www.meetup.com/London-MongoDB-User-Group/suggestion/) with the London MongoDB User Group organisers about sponsoring the food for the meet up.
