On November 17th we’ll host the latest MongoDB London User Group Meetup. It will include two speaker sessions, networking time and refreshments. The full agenda is below.

Agenda

19:15 - 19:45 MongoDB and Haymarket

Abstract: Hear how Haymarket used MongoDB to create a dealer reporting tool for PistonHeads.com, the UK’s biggest online motoring community. PistonHub makes use of disparate data sources to analyse, collate and present the data as a single view for car dealers so they can understand how ads and campaigns are performing.

Bio: Peter Dignan heads the platform team at PistonHeads.com (http://www.haymarket.com/brands/pistonheads), part of Haymarket Media Group.

19:45 - 20:15 MongoDB 3.2 aggregation & $lookup

Abstract: Applications get great efficiency from MongoDB by combining data that is accessed together into a single document but there are often times – particularly for real-time analytics – where greater value can be found when combining data from multiple collections. MongoDB 3.2 addresses this through the introduction of the $lookup stage in the aggregation pipeline to implement left-outer joins.

This session looks at $lookup as well as the other significant aggregation enhancements coming with MongoDB 3.2—why they're needed, what they deliver, and how to use them.

Bio: Andrew Morgan is a Principal Product Manager working for MongoDB. He joined at the start of this summer from Oracle where he’d spent 6+ years in product management, focussed on High Availability. Andrew is based near London and so hopes to make regular appearances at the London MUG. He can be contacted @andrewmorgan (http://twitter.com/andrewmorgan) and you can read his blog at clusterdb.com (http://www.clusterdb.com/).

20:15 Networking with pizza and refreshments
