LOPUG Meetup on Thursday 18th June, 6.30pm onwards

Details
Our June meetup is all about how Docker fits with PaaS and we've got some great speakers, as well as the usual beer, pizza and fun. For this event we've got 2 presentations:
• Jeff Hobbs, CTO & VP Engineering @Activestate
Docker is Not Enough
Docker is becoming increasingly popular - every major private and public cloud vendor is racing to adopt it. It promises portability and interoperability, and is quickly becoming a currency of the cloud. However, although Docker is important to the future of the cloud, it is only one piece of the puzzle.
In this talk Jeff will outline the bigger picture of where Docker fits and the remaining infrastructure that is needed for large-scale adoption by enterprise IT, covering aspects from orchestration, authentication, security and multi-tenancy to high-availability and resilience in the volatile cloud.
• Julian Friedman, Senior Software Engineer @IBM
Building a Docker Backend for Garden
Julian will present a demo and discussion of Garden-Docker which is a (prototype, for fun) backend for Garden, the Cloud Foundry container technology implemented on top of Docker.
This allows you to run Cloud Foundry with Docker as the underlying container technology. Why would you want to use this? How does it work? What does this mean about the differences between Garden and other container technologies? Julian will explain all this and more.
So if you're interested in hearing from people who are implementing, using and delivering PaaS today then we hope you can make it.
Hope to see you there,
The LOPUG team.
