Puccini Opera Suor Angelica at St James's Church - with Spiritual Friends

Details

Puccini opera Suor Angelica at St James' Church (Piccadilly)

Spiritual Friends are going to The Opera !!! LIMITED AVAILABILITY Book now if you wish to join us !!!

What a way to start off the year, with a bit of Culture !!! Here we have a real special deal that I have managed to negotiate specially for our group. This is one for those Culture Vultures amongst us or for those of us who would like to experience Opera for the first time without the usual High Ticket price !!

We have special price tickets for this semi-staged performance of Puccini's Suor Angelica at the stunning St James Church in Piccadilly. The tickets are usually £20 for everyone but students.

Tickets are £10 plus £2 booking & meetup fee.

The Venue , St James Church is one of my favourite London Churches and a truly spectaculor venue for opera. I have attended concerts at the church and the acoustics are amazing.

The performance starts at 7pm and it is not a very long performance, ending at around 8pm which should give us ample time to find somewhere for a drink and a chat.

We have reserved tickets on the balcony which has a total of 200 seats.

Please do arrive promptly as seats are not reserved and we will do our best to find seats together and I will be holding the tickets.

The Production directed by Aylin Bozok, the opera is performed by Talent Unlimited, a young charity that provides financial support to music students of exceptional talent but limited means, so we're benefiting a great cause, while enjoying a very special performance.

The group are presenting Suor Angelica, the second opera of the trio of operas known as Il trittico (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Il_trittico) (Triptych). Highly emotionally charged, the setting is a convent where Sister Angelica has been sequestered by her family to atone for her sin as the mother of an illegitimate child. This beautifully lyrical piece harnesses the melodic and dramatic power of opera to bring together the themes of love, sin, religious devotion, death and redemption.

Meeting point

I have to collect the tickets at around 6.30pm. I will then pop next door to Costa's Coffee shop to gather everyone. Please wait outside the coffee shop, perhaps on or near the outside tables.

I will have with me a large pink and black brolley and my phone. I can be reached on 07958 298 236 on the day. Please be prompt as we can not wait for late comers as we do not have reserved seating and can not leave tickets anywhere. We will also need to go in together to get seats together. We will head into the church at 6.45pm latest.

We will have some socialising timer after the show at a local cafe or pub.
