Sept Meetup - Social Media Analytics

And getting ahead of the game by scheduling two meetups at once.  The Sept one will be early in the month on Wed 3rd Sept.  The topic will be Social Media Analytics but will be again looking to split discussions into two.

1. This first area will be on Social Media in web analytics tools like Google Analytics.  How to track, how to evaluate performance, useful tips, tricks, tools to use.

2. The second area covers analytics within the tools themselves.  So Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics & any other 3rd party tools useful for understanding the impact of all the time you spend on social media.  

I will be introducing the first area but would be great if someone with a bit of experience on Facebook Insights/Twitter Analytics could volunteer to spend five minutes or so talking about the two tools.

Food at 6:45pm and discussions kicking off at 7pm.

    Hi. I can't make tonight but have a question for you Analytics Ninjas. I read this week that whilst social media is a great way to drive traffic to your site, putting a Twitter feed on a website has no SEO or traffic driving value whatsoever! Do you support this view?

      No personal experience on it either. On traffic driving, only benefit will be if people go to your website, notice the feed, think it is interesting, start to follow you - and then click through on links you post in the future. So no direct traffic driving but potential to increase future traffic.

      Thanks guys. It's actually an API which uses javascript to fetch the Twitter feed content dynamically. Peter's point that it encourages people to follow you makes sense. However, the risk that visitors could click on a link in a tweet on your site's home page then leave was enough for me to take it off my own website yesterday!
